About

Patchii came about when, in 2020, a UK family tried to adopt a dog through one of the 'big' rescue and rehoming charities. They were declined due to the infamous 6ft fence rule.

Desperate to add a dog to them family the looked around and found Greek Rescue Charity, an amazing rehoming centre that rescues stray dogs in Greece and rehomes them around Europe. The process was quick and smooth and Hera joined the family in a matter of weeks. When she first arrived she was scared and timid and the family realised they had no idea how to deal with a dog with trauma. Luckily COVID was just around the corner and this family was given the gift of time and spent months working with her to bring her out of her shell.

This isn't the happy ending that a lot of people who rescue dogs from Europe (particularly eastern Europe) get.

Patchii recognises the challenges and complexities in rescuing and rehoming dogs, especially those with traumatic backgrounds.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between hopeful adopters and the nuanced realities of rescuing a dog, providing resources and support to ensure every adoption story has the chance of a happy forever home.
